Install & verify on macOS

Work-mode runs on macOS 11 or later, Apple Silicon. It lives in your menu bar; the window is just its settings.

1. Download

Get the .dmg from work-mode.online/download. Only download Work-mode from us.

2. Install

1. Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Work-mode intoApplications.
2. Launch it from Applications. Because the app is Apple-notarized it opens normally — if macOS shows a first-run prompt, choose Open.

3. (Optional) Verify it's genuine

Every build is signed by Captivated Ltd and notarized by Apple. To confirm from Terminal:

4. First run

On first launch Work-mode captures your current setup as yourPersonal profile, so switching back to Personal always restores the machine you already had. Your Work profile starts empty — open Settings from the menu-bar icon to configure it (wallpaper, theme, apps, browser profile, and so on).

5. Switch modes

• Left-click the menu-bar icon to toggle between Work and Personal.
• Right-click for the menu (switch, open settings, quit).
• Or use the keyboard shortcut shown in Settings.

The icon changes per mode so you can always see which one you're in.

6. Updates

Work-mode can update itself with signed updates. OpenSettings → Software update and click Check for updates; optionally enable checking at launch. It never checks silently.
